Cosmetic acupuncture

In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), acupuncture is also used for skin rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction. This specific form is often called cosmetic acupuncture or facial acupuncture.

 

Aim of cosmetic acupuncture:

- Promotes blood circulation and lymphatic flow

- Stimulates collagen production

- Relaxes and strengthens facial muscles

- Improves skin tone and elasticity

- Reduces fine lines and wrinkles

 

Process and effect

- Typically, 10–20 sessions are recommended (1–2 sessions per week).

- The first visible effects appear after approximately 5–7 sessions.

- The treatment is generally painless.

- Side effects are rare (mild redness or bruising may occur).

 

Combination options

- Cupping, Gua Sha, or moxibustion for support

- TCM nutrition for internal skin care

- Herbal therapy to strengthen Qi, blood, and Yin
