Marma

The word Marma means Vital point in the body. These points are considered to be connecting points of energy flow in the human body. There are 107 Marma points that are used for treating different ailments. Marma massages are considered to be comparatively stronger than the other massages because considerable pressure is needed to stimulate the points. Like Abhyanga, Marma is also starting from the back, as the patient lies in the face-down position. Neck and shoulder stiffness is a major problem for many of us, especially among people who are regularly working in offices with computers. When untreated, in many cases, this stiffness can be a cause of headache, arms pain, stress, uneasiness, sleeplessness, etc. Marma massage is an apt treatment for relieving this stiffness and pain. Even one or two sessions of Marma can effectively give adequate relaxation.
